Amphetamines are synthesized from ephedra which comes from the Mu-Huange plant. The drugs are not considered natural nor are there any real “natural” amphetamines. Many make the mistake of thinking that natural drugs are “good” drugs. Unfortunately, even when a drug is of a natural origin it may or may not be helpful or safe to use.
Natural amphetamines do not exist because amphetamine itself is not a naturally occurring product. It must be created, in a lab, through synthesis of other naturally and unnaturally occurring products. Ephedra is the primary component used to synthesize amphetamine and although ephedra is natural, there is no FDA approved use for this substance and it is not legal in the United States.
Who Wants Natural Amphetamines?
You may have taken Adderall or another amphetamine-based drug in the past and noticed that it helped you out a bit or that it made your day progress better. Maybe you want a “pick me up” but don’t want to take what you consider a “medication” or a “drug.” Many people seek natural amphetamines or other herbal or natural ways of producing a similar effect to that produced by amphetamines but unfortunately they have little luck in finding what they are looking for because there really are no natural amphetamines available.
Dangers of “Natural” Substances
It’s important to recognize the dangers associated with the use of natural substances. Just because something comes from a plant and is natural does not make it safe to use. Various dangers and side effects could occur even with the use of naturally occurring substances. There are many natural substances and natural drugs that are actually considered controlled substances and which may or may not help the user when he or she takes them for various purposes. For instance, did you know that the following drugs are ALL considered natural substances?
- Morphine
- Valium
- Codeine
- Lithium
- Penicillin
- GHB
Most people don’t realize that these, and many other drugs, are naturally derived from various plants or processes. Most people would not take these drugs without a prescription or in the case of GHB, at all, because they know that they are drugs and that drugs pose a potential risk to the user. However, all of the drugs are natural!
Natural does not equal safe and even if there were natural amphetamines, they would not necessarily be considered safe amphetamines. Amphetamines are a potentially dangerous drug that should not be used unless prescribed and even then should be taken with extreme caution.
